Occupied with other things – Blipfoto backup and API ponderings
A very kind blipper has created an app using the API that allows anyone with a Blipfoto account to download their images at the size they appear on the website, and the thumbnails plus an XML file with all of the text. It works very well. It took 1 hour and 18 minutes to download 1479 records, which I did last night for my husband.
I would like to know how to use this API and have this in mind for when I get to that section on the course. I would like to be able to do the following things and wonder if it is possible from the API:
- Create a list of followers and followees with their profile thumbnail image and a link to their profile page.
- Create a statistics report with the number of blippers and/or a list of all blippers with their profile thumbnail image and link to their profile pages.
- Create a webpage that draws on the list of followers and followees and allows me to use that in different ways – display a list of their most recent blips in order by their names, in the order they followed me, in the order I followed them.
- Create a list of followees that says whether I follow them and visa versa and has a follow/unfollow button to allow the status to be changed.
At this stage I imagine all of these are possible but have no idea how to go about it.
